Forgiveness

Posted by talderman in Untagged

I sinned again today. So what else is new? But when I was asking for forgiveness, I asked in a way I have not previously done. I said, Please forgive me for doing this. But then I said, This is such a pathetically old story: I should be asking God to forgive me for my life – that is, I should be asking forgiveness not just for this one sin but for the way I’ve lived my life – the mediocrity, the unbelief, the fear, the self-concern.

Of course I haven’t lived my life completely in unbelief, mediocrity, etc., but you get the point. I’ve never been the man I wanted to be. Hell, I’ve never been the man I thought I was.

Perseverence

Posted by talderman in Untagged

In the world you have trouble; but cheer up -- I have overcome the world.

-- Jesus.

I was telling a client she didn't have any good choices, but then I realized that with Jesus she has only good choices.  No matter which she chooses as the lesser of evils, Jesus will be with her; and if being with Jesus is the main thing, then you're fat no matter what.

Does God Exist?

Mars Hill Forum

May 13, 2008

I. Introduction.

I do not merely maintain that the answer to this question is Yes; I intend to actually prove it to be the case.

Please note that I am not claiming merely that it is rational to believe in God: I am claiming that God does exist and that His existence can be – in fact, has been, proved, by the momentous scientific discoveries of the 20th Century.
